MEZCAL ROUTE 5 DAYS
DESCRIPTION :
The term mezcal (from Nahuatl mexcalli, 'maguey cocido', from metl 'maguey' and ixcalli 'cocido') has three meanings, currently:
In its original sense, it refers to the food obtained from the cooking of the stem and the base of the leaves of this plant.
It is the common name of some species of maguey or agave, in Mexico.
It is the name of a traditional Mexican alcoholic drink, which can be produced in nine different states of the country, made from the distillation of the heart of the maguey.
There are different types of maguey, and each produces a different version of mezcal; One of the best known, although it does not exactly meet the traditional definition of mezcal, is tequila. Simply put, tequila is actually a type of mezcal. This has given rise to a popular phrase among connoisseurs: it is called Tequila, but it is called Mezcal.
