DESCRIPTION :

The typical food in San Luis Potosí is composed by indigenous tradition mainly of corn, which when fused with Spanish food incorporates meats such as pork and chicken. Its variety is large and you can enjoy dishes such as the cold cuts from Potosí or the famous red cheese tacos, served with carrots and roasted potatoes, sprinkled with fresh cheese.

Desserts include tuna cheese and those made with goat's milk such as custard and cajeta or the traditional Campechanas from Santa María del Río.

The dishes change depending on the geographical area: in the Huasteca plantain leaf tamales as well as zacahuil are traditional, in the Altiplano the wedding barbecue and pit barbecue are characteristic, in the Middle Zone snacks such as quesadillas, flutes and gorditas while in the Central Zone potosinas enchiladas are the main dish.
